Jon and Dana moved to Arizona in 1980 and Jon obtained his real estate license that year. He owned and operated Kichen and Associates with his mom and dad, Shirley and Rubin Kichen. In the early 1980's they focused primarily on condo conversion sales and residential re-sales.

Throughout the early and mid 1980's, Kichen and Associates worked on several large land acquisition sales in northeast Phoenix and the east valley when development was years away. Today, many of those sites are in the heart of town and are fully developed.

In 1986, Jon and the family decided to close Kichen and Associates and move to Merrill Lynch Realty. Jon became Sales Manager and continued selling real estate while at Merrill Lynch. In 1989, Merrill Lynch was purchased by Prudential, and in 1990, the company was franchised as Prudential Arizona Realty.

In the fall of 1990, Jon joined Coldwell Banker as sales manager of the Camelback Branch and became Branch Manager in December 1990.

By the end of 1991, Jon took an office that was losing money and turned it into one of the most profitable offices for the Western Region of Coldwell Banker for many years to come. When the Arizona operation was purchased in 1993 and became Coldwell Banker Success Realty, Jon was an integral part of the transition, name change and operational change in the company. In the almost 9 years since that transition, Jon was part of the team that moved Coldwell Banker Success Realty into the forefront of leadership in the real estate community in Phoenix.

Today, Jon is on the brokerage team at West USA Realty, another industry leader, and works to assist almost 2000 agents in the company. West USA Realty has steadily moved into the lead in the industry and Jon is again an integral part of that growth.

Over the years in real estate, Jon has participated in the industry by being part of the Realtor® organization, including:

• Chaired RAPAC Committee, Scottsdale, 1986 and 1987
• Chaired Government Affairs Committee, Scottsdale, 1988 and 1989
• Member Board of Directors, Scottsdale, 1987-1990
• Member Grievance Committee, Phoenix, 1992-1994
• Chaired Grievance Committee, Phoenix, 1994-1996
• Member Professional Standards Committee, Phoenix, 1996-1998, and Arizona Association of Realtors®, (AAR) 2002-present
• Member Board of Director, AAR, 2004-present

Jon currently serves on the AAR Semi-Standing Forms Committee as well as the Arizona Department of Real Estate (ADRE) Licensing Statute Workgroup

Jon began teaching real estate sales courses and license renewal courses in 1993. Currently, Jon is certified to teach all required courses, and has been approved by AAR to teach the National Association of Realtors (NAR) required Ethics Classes that all Realtors® must take every 4 years.

Jon is an avid photographer of nature, animals and extreme locations. Jon and Dana have trekked on a glacier, explored an active volcano, and hiked down through a rainforest. Jon has also visited the Mayan Ruins in Chichen Itza, Mexico.

Jon and Dana live in Scottsdale. Their son, Jason, is married to Stefeny and they live in Washington DC, where Jason works to protect our country.
